Want to give your child that edge with speaking Spanish? Look no further.

Because of our amazing trips to China, many of our families do not have the funds to spend on lavish trips to Latin America. There is no need for large expenditures when you travel to Puerto Penasco (Tucson’s Sister City) or Hermosillo (Phoenix’s Sister City). In Puerto Penasco, your child is paired with a host brother or sister while in school. You may elect to take their host brother or sister out to dinner with your family to keep the immersion going!

In Hermosillo, we place your child in school and pair them with a host brother or sister. At night, your child will go home with their host brother or sister and stay the entirety of the trip with their family. On the weekends your host family may take your child on vacation to other areas of Mexico to explore. We organize service projects at the Woman’s Shelter and have opportunities for your child to meet with government officials.

These trips to Mexico are so rewarding in that they are inexpensive and encourage your child to grow with their language abilities and maturity. They will see the world through the eyes of their host brother or sister and learn a new culture.

You are responsible for becoming a Phoenix Sister Cities Member for any of these trips. You must also procure and pay for your child’s passport. You should expect to send gifts for your child’s host family and commit to hosting the brother or sister in your own house during the same summer experience for 10 days.

These trips are open for children ages 5-13.
